Help with the VanStock.trade app. Can't find your answer? Email [email protected] from the email on your account, or include your mobile number, and say what happened. We reply within 10 working days, usually much sooner.

Getting started

Who can use VanStock.trade? Trades and businesses only: sole traders, partnerships and companies, aged 18 or over. You verify a UK mobile number when you sign up.

Is it live in my area? We're opening area by area. If you're outside a live area, the app tells you and we'll text you when your area opens.

Pings and offers

How do I find a part? Post a ping: describe the part, add a photo if you can, and set where you are. Nearby vans and trade counters with the part reply with a price.

Why hasn't anyone replied? Replies depend on who is nearby and has the part. We can't guarantee a reply, so don't rely on VanStock.trade alone for urgent or safety-critical work.

How do I arrange collection? Once the seller confirms "Still got it", you both see each other's phone number. Call or text to agree the time and place.

Paying and fees

What does it cost? Posting and offering are free during the pilot. Buyers pay the seller's price plus a VanStock.trade service fee; you see both amounts before you confirm.

When am I charged? Your card is held when the seller confirms, and only charged when you tap "Confirm and pay" at collection, after checking the part. Unused holds are released after 24 hours.

Can I pay the seller in cash? No. Any collection arranged through VanStock.trade must be paid in the app. Report anyone who asks you to pay outside it.

The part was wrong. Can I get a refund? Check the part before you confirm: confirming means you accept it. If something goes wrong after that and the seller agrees to a refund, email us and we'll process it. The service fee isn't refundable.

Selling and getting paid

Can I sell straight away? Yes. To receive the money, finish seller setup in your Profile (Stripe payout details and your tax details). Until then your money is held for you.

When do I get paid? Stripe pays out to your bank, normally daily. Your first payout can take 7 to 14 days while Stripe completes its checks.

Why do you need my tax details? UK law requires platforms to report sellers' sales to HMRC each year. We send you a copy of what we report.

Safety and reporting

How do I report someone? Use Report on the request, offer or profile. Reasons include wrong part, asked to pay outside the app, didn't turn up, suspected stolen, prohibited item, and spam or abuse.
